Have you ever wanted to learn what you can do after college? well Louie Allen has had an exciting time. Louie Allen is a graduate teaching assistant and Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Studies graduate student at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.  He completed his Bachelors of Science in Recreation Studies at OU in 2015, and has since worked for the Sierra Mountain Center in Bishop, California as a mountain guide leading and instructing backcountry peak ascents and extended backpacking trips.  He is an AMGA certified Single Pitch Instructor, Assistant Rock Guide, and Apprentice Alpine Guide, and has worked periodically in the climbing gym industry as a route setter and performance coach.  He hopes to use his graduate studies to explore contributing factors to success and barriers to entry in high-end mountain guiding.  Louie has an affinity for any and all baked goods, particularly cookies that include chocolate. Come hear Louie’s story and ask any questions you would like.
