Greetings AORE Members!
 
Access to public lands has been, and continues to be, a challenge to the AORE membership. In response, AORE's Access Committee has been working diligently on national initiatives to address these challenges and advocate for change. 

On September 28, the Outdoor Access Working Group, for whom AORE Board member, Paul Sanford, and AORE Executive Director, Jeannette Stawski, serve on the steering committee, coordinated and hosted a pilot program in Denver to train stakeholders and answer questions about the new lens through which the U.S. Forest Service is viewing recreation management. The pilot event had a great turnout and we look forward to continued participation in hosting additional, regionally-focused training sessions, as well as webinars on this topic. U.S. Forest Service leaders Joe Meade and Tinelle Bustam spoke at the event. We are honored to be hosting them as Summit Series speakers at the AORE Annual Conference this year, where they will present "Valuing Outdoor Experiences: Making People a Priority in America's National Forests."
