Event Description

Creating spaces where people can show up fully requires more than safety, it requires courage.

Our brave space framework is a practice we carry into our relationships, workplaces and communities.  It becomes a lens for how you lead, communicate, and build relationships.

Our next Community Workshop series will focus on creating brave spaces and fostering resiliency in a supportive space where you can collaborate with peers to identify opportunities to promote courage, and foster belongingness in your programs and teams. We’ll explore how trauma-informed practices can help leaders create environments where participants feel supported enough to engage honestly, stay present through challenging moments, and learn together.

This means:

  1. How we show up in meetings

  2. How we respond in moments of tension

  3. How we engage with community members

  4. How we hold power, especially with youth (and other underrepresented groups)

  5. How we design programs and events

Our recent webinar, "From Safe to Brave Spaces" offers a comprehensive overview of this framework and some initial ideas of how these topics can apply to your work.

The three sessions will be:

  1. "Trauma-Informed Foundations for Brave Spaces:” on April 22

  2. "Resiliency & Belongingness" on April 29, and

  3. “Design & Create Brave Spaces” on May 6.

The Justice Outside Community Workshops are excellent opportunities for all individuals to foster a deeper understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion practices whether for themselves or for their organization.
