Event Name:
Leave No Trace Awareness Workshop in American Sign Language [ONLINE]

Event Type(s):
Webinar

Description:

CorpsTHAT is a small non-profit organization based in Maryland with the mission to connect the Deaf community and the outdoors through education, recreation, and careers. If you’d like, you can check us out at our website: www.corpsthat.org

We have shifted all of our offices and in-person services to virtual services to ensure that the Deaf community still has access to the outdoors through recreation, education, and job opportunities. We have offered two online outdoor education courses so far: one Camping 101 course on May 28th and two Backpacking 101 courses on June 11th. We will be offering our third course: Leave No Trace on the 25th of this month.

Have you always wanted to learn more about low-impact camping, hiking, or how to better enjoy the outdoors responsibly? This introductory Leave No Trace course will provide you with a better understanding of the impact of recreation-related activities, the seven principles, and how Leave No Trace skills and ethics can help protect the outdoor places we love. We hope you’ll join our Deaf outdoor educator for this hands-on workshop on the seven principles of Leave No Trace presented in American Sign Language. After taking the course, you will be able to apply what you learned at home or in the outdoors.
