Association Chat | The Power of Personal Storytelling: Bringing Inclusivity to the Outdoors

Event Description
Sharing personal stories can be a powerful way to evoke emotion, invite participation and demonstrate inclusivity. Personal storytelling, however, is often overlooked as a valuable tool for centering diverse voices and increasing participation of underrepresented groups in the outdoor industry.
DB Crema, the Producer and Host of United States of Race Podcast, will share her journey in creating a platform for discussing diversity, inclusion and race and present ideas for how AORE members can leverage podcasting and/or other mediums as tools to celebrate the outdoors, create educational materials, and improve representation of diverse outdoor enthusiasts and educators.
The second half of our chat is open forum. We invite you to bring your current challenges, successes, questions, and experiences. As a collective group, we will determine the path of discussion the forum takes and provide opportunity for members to support each other through shared experiences.
