Twelve AORE members selected to travel to Peru for the Inca Discovery Plus Lares Trek and partake in strategic discussions on industry topics

ANN ARBOR, MICH. – March 22, 2016 – It is with great pleasure and excitement that the Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education (AORE) along with G Adventures awards inclusion in the AORE & G Adventures Global University program to twelve AORE members. The program is intentionally aimed to foster a community of experts within the outdoor recreation and education industry in subject matter important to our industry. The program will travel to Lima, Peru and engage in a 9 day expedition in the Andes during June 20-29, 2016.

Selected members include: Brad Beggs, Amanda Even, Jason Gosch, Ryan Hammes, Ann Marie Hingley, Jennifer Hopper, Bryan Karban, Billy Marcantel,Joey Parent, Dave Sperry, Andrew Szolosi, and Jennifer Velie.

During the expedition, two AORE Representatives will facilitate group discussions to enhance the development of the outdoor education and recreation profession. Jeannette Stawski, Executive Director of AORE and Rick Dawson, Associate Director of Leadership Development & Student Recreation at California State University, Monterey Bay will co-facilitate the discussions. The delegation of sixteen is rounded out with the addition of 2 experts in global outdoor programming, Sandy Doss and Lucas Bialecki of G Adventures.

During the evening and sometimes morning discussions, the group will focus on diversity and inclusion, increasing the learning impact of students, global outdoor education, risk mitigation, current industry research, environmental stewardship, program innovation and more. Participants can expect to share best practices, learn key information and forge new relationships that will advance their program back home.
