AORE Announces 2016 Research Grant
The Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education (AORE) along with its Research and Publications Committee are excited to announce the 2016 Research Grant awarding up to $5,000 to a researcher or research team studying various topics surrounding the outdoor recreation and education industry. AORE announced the highly increased funding levels last year and is honored to provide the opportunity to researchers to study an area of interest that meets areas of strategic importance to AORE and its members.

AORE Announces 2016 Research Grant
 
ANN ARBOR, MICH – April 29, 2016 – The Association of Outdoor Recreation and Education (AORE) along with its Research and Publications Committee are excited to announce the 2016 Research Grant awarding up to $5,000 to a researcher or research team studying various topics surrounding the outdoor recreation and education industry. AORE announced the highly increased funding levels last year and is honored to provide the opportunity to researchers to study an area of interest that meets areas of strategic importance to AORE and its members.
 
Applicants are welcome to propose quantitative or qualitative empirical studies, analysis of secondary data sources, the development of new theories or conceptual frameworks, as well as other proposals that further AORE’s mission, goals and objectives and are in-line with these AORE research topics:

 

  • College Climbing Walls

  • Environmental Stewardship

  • Return on Financial Investment

  • Retention and Graduation Rates

  • Leadership

  • Value of Outdoor Recreation Experiences

  • Outdoor Orientation Programs

  • Operations and Administration

  • Challenge Course

  • Standards

 
Applicants for the research grant must complete a research grant proposal form. The grant proposal form includes applicant’s information, research summary, area of research, research summary, tasks/activities (time-line), budget, and outcomes. Applicants are not required to be AORE members however will be expected to present their findings at the 2017 AORE Annual Conference. The deadline for grant proposal submission is October 7, 2016 by 5:00pm (EST).  Proposals will be graded using the AORE Research Grant Scoring Criteria which can be found online.
