Volunteer Opportunities: 2018 AORE Annual Conference

New in 2018! In the past, a host team local to the destination venue has planned the AORE Annual Conference. But with our new partnerships with both WEA and AEE, a leadership team comprised of volunteers living and working throughout the United States will now plan, in part, this event. This opens the door to each and every AORE member who is interested in the planning and implementation of the association’s largest and most well attended program of the year.

Volunteers are key to the advancement of AORE’s mission, as they contribute a wide variety of perspectives, engagement, action and passion.

Volunteering time to support the annual conference can be a phenomenal way to contribute and expand your skills, knowledge and networks. Volunteering also allows you to make a lasting and meaningful impact. Among other things, volunteers:

  • Articulate AORE’s value and advance the profession;
  • Get access to training and development opportunities;
  • Enhance their experience and resume;
  • Strengthen their community and networks; and
  • Connect and network with other like-minded people.

Specific elements of the conference for which we’ll need support include:

  • Auctions
  • Demo day
  • Keynote
  • Logistics
  • Marketing
  • Mobile app
  • Photography/videography
  • Project management
  • Registration
  • Socials
  • Volunteer management
  • And so much more…

Serving on the 2018 AORE Annual Conference leadership team requires a commitment to:

  • Volunteer the necessary time to make a difference (which will vary per role).
  • Engage in purposeful conversation and the tasks to be accomplished.
  • The mission of AORE and to advancing the field of outdoor recreation and education.

To indicate your interest or to learn more about the available positions and specific time commitments involved, please email Aaron Wolowiec at volunteer@aore.org.
