TYO - EMERGING LEADERS WEBINAR (MARCH 12) IS A HUGE SUCCESS Access the recording and read reflections from Executive Director Jeannette Stawski on her experiences at this recent learning event. ![]() On March 12, 2019, Transforming Youth Outdoors (TYO) hosted a webinar featuring three organizations that manage emerging leaders programs---Fresh Tracks, American Hiking Society's NextGen Trail Leaders, and AORE's Emerging Leaders Program. Each of these initiatives focus on developing leaders who aim to make a positive impact for nature and the outdoors. Our Executive Director represented AORE for this learning session, engaging in a lively exchange with Juan Martinez, Co-Founder of Fresh Tracks, and Tyler Ray, Director of Policy and Advocacy for the American Hiking Society. ![]() Emerging leaders programs provide opportunities for diverse groups of young people, oftentimes early career professionals, to receive focused training opportunities as well as ongoing support to develop their leadership skills. The goal is for leaders to return home and work toward change in their communities and within their organizations, businesses, or schools, oftentimes to increase access to outdoor spaces, promote the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and help nurture other potential leaders.
