The JUMP! Breaking Digital Barriers Program provides educators with the appropriate skills and tools for instructing and connecting through online platforms in an experientially manner. This program centers on unpacking the importance of connection, identifying needs of individuals and students in a virtual learning setting, and using the power of digital facilitation to build and maintain meaningful connections over Zoom.

Educators will reflect on how the language they use, the questions they present, and the group management tools they employ shape positive learning experiences and mindsets for their students. JUMP! facilitators will provide a set of methods and models for educators to experiment with, and each participant will explore what approaches are most suitable for their professional role.

Educators will be challenged to discover new methods towards creating meaningful learning experiences in the virtual landscape. Educators will leave the program with an awareness of how these creative ideas contribute to their teaching style online and how to put their style and skills into action in their virtual classroom, personal lives, local community and beyond. The program will serve to give educators a virtual toolbox of facilitation skills in addition to experiential activities that cover topics from team building, community discovery, and empathy for students.
