About the Presenters

Dustin Smucker

Dustin began leading outdoor trips in the late-1900s. After years of seasonal field instructing, he has managed outdoor adventure programs for the last 20+ years. He currently serves as a Program Manager at UC Santa Cruz Adventure Rec, supporting student leaders to discover and practice their potential.

Augie Donovan

Augie is a Junior Data Scientist at Interchecks Technology, a Brooklyn-based financial technology startup. He was a student leader at UC Santa Cruz Adventure Rec while earning a combined B.A. in Mathematics and Economics. He completed a semester-long outdoor educator course with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), worked as a credit risk analyst at Goldman Sachs, and earned an M.S. in Business Analytics from the Rady School of Management at UC San Diego.
